Good Result at British Championship

As the temperature soared at Buxton Raceway last weekend the Brisca V8 stock cars held their British Championship meeting which contributed to an exciting race program.

Newarks Dave Sharp and Bracher race engines team had worked hard late into Friday night refitting the newly rebuilt engine that had been badly damaged at the Stoke meeting. Saturday saw the engine being run in at Birmingham Raceway ready for the British Championship races on Sunday.

Dave was gridded 12th in heat one and finished in 11th position after some very fast racing. Dave then started well in the second heat only to have a tyre burst 2 laps in.  This meant that he only had enough points to qualify 22nd on the grid for the main British Championship race.

In a hard-fought race Dave battled through the field to eventually finish in a creditable 11th place. This had followed two race stoppages due to incidents, one of which was caused by Hucknalls Nick Blach’s car suffering a serious fire on track when a fuel line failed.

The race winner and 2018 British Champion was Adam Joyce who is currently the V8 World Champion

“Considering all the mechanical problems that we have had this season, I am well happy with the result”  Dave said.

“ I would like to thank Bracher Race Engines for all the hard work to get the car ready again and Jalapeno Business Services for their continued support. We are now looking forward to the European Championship at Northampton on the 24th June”.
