- Vacuum thoroughly inside, checking that there are no damp patches under loose carpets. These would suggest that rain water is getting in, and will need to be thoroughly investgated and repairs made.
- Wash and polish outside. Paying special attention to the underside of doors and the door sills.
- Get the underside of the car hosed down, including the wheel arches.
- If you notice any chips and scratches, get them attended to before rust sets in.
- Now is also a good time to check your tyres – not just the pressure, but also the tread. Minimum tread is 1.6 mm, but it is best to to change tyres before they get to this.
