Farndon Colts Represent Newark in Ireland

Friday, April 25th, 2014

Unfortunately, the Colts lost 3-1 but it was a glorious game played on a fabulous pitch in surprisingly good weather.  The team they were up against Westport United FC who operate as Under 12s to Under 15s. In Ireland each town has just one club which attracts the best talent.  As a result, the Colts were up against an older, more experienced team more akin to a Nottinghamshire select XI, so they should be very proud of the result and of the quality of football played by all the boys.

The experience helped the boys to bond as an even stronger team, and it was partially responsible for our Division 1 League Cup final win on Easter Monday after their return to Newark.
MDS Services are happy to be one of the sponsors enabling the team to visit Westport and take part in the Broddie Gartland Trophy.  We wish them all all the best for the future, and good luck  next year when the challenge for the Broddie Gartland Trophy will take place in Newark.
